Implementing ergonomics in work processes allows for the identification of organizational, physical, and cognitive risk factors, the assessment of biomechanical risks, and the application of appropriate control measures. These actions contribute to improving working conditions, increasing comfort, and preventing accidents and occupational diseases, promoting safer and more efficient work environments.

ObjectivosObjectivesThe objectives of the discipline are: - Define the basic concepts related to ergonomics; - Present the ergonomic aspects to be taken into account in the context of the workplace; - Apply appropriate techniques to assess occupational risks associated with OSH hygiene conditions due to ergonomic factors. At the end of the course, students should be able to: - Know the scope of application of ergonomics in the workplace, identify risk factors and analyze specific risks; - Suggest measures to prevent occupational risks, in particular to prevent biomechanical risks; - Develop simulations with the application of calculation and analysis methodologies for solutions in the field of ergonomics.

MetodologiaMethodologyThe content will be presented in face-to-face sessions with discussion of the topics, guided practical sessions, and the development of practical assignments. The Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Case Study methodology is adopted, promoting active, student-centered learning through the resolution of complex real-world problems. The instructor provides case studies and practical application exercises that require the resolution of hazardous conditions typically the responsibility of qualified professionals in the field of study, as well as other materials through the content management platform (Moodle).

AvaliaçãoEvaluation
aquisição de conhecimentos será aferida através de um teste de avaliação. O desenvolvimento de competências será aferido através da realização, apresentação, e da discussão de um trabalho de grupo. Os coeficientes de ponderação no cálculo da nota final são os seguintes: Teste (60%) E Trabalho de grupo com as componentes elaboração, apresentação e discussão (40%).
- Serão aprovados os alunos que tiverem nota final igual ou superior a 10 valores nos elementos de avaliação contínua acima indicados.
- Caso não sejam aprovados, terão de efetuar a avaliação final.
