ObjectivosObjectivesObjectives: O1. Analyze the concept and role of tourist intermediation. O2. Investigate the origin and evolution of travel and tourism agencies (AVT); O3. Define the concept and components of organized trips and describe the process of building these trips, analyzing emerging trends in this sector; O4. Understand how technology is applied to tourism operations and reservation systems, analyzing the functioning of global distribution systems (GDS). Skills and competencies: C1. Critically analyze concepts, trends, processes and legal requirements, promoting an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the travel organization sector; C2. Evaluate the technological tools used in tourist operations and reservation systems, considering efficiency, security and adaptation to changes in demand and expectations of the tourist market; C3. Proficiently use specific software for AVT management.

MetodologiaMethodologyFace-to-face: 1. theoretical-practical teaching: Presentation of concepts and discussion of programme contents. 2. Laboratory practice: Visits to Travel and Tourism Agencies to observe the dynamics of the sector in situ; Field research; Critical analysis of case studies related to tourism operations and booking systems, using classroom debates. 3. Simulated practice: Simulation using specific software for distributing and selling services; Seminar; Scenarios and activities that allow students to explore real situations related to travel organisation, applying concepts and practical skills. Promotion of collaborative and interdisciplinary learning between the ‘Tourist Itineraries’ and ‘OTSR’ courses. Autonomous: 4. Consolidation of the content taught in class by researching additional information on the different topics covered and developing supplementary work, solving concrete problems and group dynamics.

Avaliação curricular (contínua):
A avaliação da unidade curricular, em regime de avaliação contínua, é composta por:
- Frequência escrita: 40% da nota final;
- Trabalho teórico-prático com apresentação: 40% da nota final;
- Atividades práticas em sala de aula relacionadas com a utilização do GDS Galileo: 20% da nota final.
Todos os estudantes que, neste regime de avaliação, obtenham média inferior a 9,50 valores serão automaticamente avaliados em avaliação final.
Os trabalhadores estudantes devem contactar a docente para esclarecimento de dúvidas relativas aos trabalhos de caractér obrigatório.
Avaliação final:
A avaliação final será realizada através de exame teórico-prático (100%), integrando tanto a componente teórica como a componente prática da unidade curricular.
