  The course introduces the fundamentals of Occupational Health and Safety, addressing its historical evolution, legal framework, key concepts, occupational hazards, and preventive methodologies for identifying, assessing, and controlling risks in workplaces and environments.

  O1. Recognize potential risks in the workplace and work environment O2. Understand the historical, political, and social context of work in which the OHS function emerged O3. Identify key moments in the history of OHS within the framework of the ILO, the European Union, and Portugal O4. Characterize the current legal framework for OSH and the organization of prevention services in organizations and the right to redress. O5. Describe preventive risk control methodologies and techniques. O6. Understand the main concepts used in the field of OSH.

• MetodologiaMethodology

  Face-to-face: 1. Expository method: the defined program content is explored. In addition, the demonstrative method is used to present concrete examples of how the content can be applied. 2. Case study-based learning aimed at discussing and finding solutions to problems identified by students or proposed by the teacher. Independent: 3. Guided research proposed by the teacher to consolidate the topics under study and provide input for the practical work developed by students.
