Principles of Economics

  The main aim of this course is to provide an overview of how the economy works, both nationally and internationally, and in the interests of a business organisation. By the end of the course, students should have acquired the appropriate knowledge and language to enable them to understand and discuss the main problems of the economy and economic policy.

The Contemporary Economy: from the First World War to the Present Day - The World Economy between the Two Wars - The Countries with Directed Economic Planning - The Countries with a So-called Developed Economy - The Precursor Countries to European Economic Unification 2. Introduction and general concepts of economics - What is economics? - Economics as a social science. - The importance of economics and the economy in society. 3.   The objectives of the course are O1.To understand the importance of Economics in the context of world historical evolution. O2. to know the main vectors of the problems related to research into economic and social history. O3 Know the fundamental concepts of economics; Explain how these concepts can be applied to a range of economic problems.
