    The Operations Management discipline prepares students to plan, control and optimize operations in organizations. It focuses on topics such as supply chain management, production optimization and operations planning, applying techniques such as Lean philosophy and systems (JIT/Kanban) among others. With Project-Based Learning (PBL), UC combines theory and practice, allowing students to solve real problems and apply the knowledge acquired. This unit is essential for anyone who wants to work in the areas of logistics, production and industrial management, contributing to the efficiency and competitiveness of companies.

    The objectives of the course are: - To define the fundamental concepts related to operations. - To explain the role and positioning of operations in organizations. - To recognize the operational differences between industrial and service companies. - To recognize, analyze and discuss alternative solutions regarding planning methods and techniques. - To analyze the different ways of evaluating the efficiency of the operations function. - To apply Lean and Just-In-Time methodologies. - To evaluate capabilities and identify critical resources.
