    The course introduces the fundamentals of labor law, addressing its evolution, sources, scope of application, and employment contract regime, including modalities, vicissitudes, termination of employment, and the main rights and duties of the parties.

    1. Introduction to employment law - coding labor. 2. Concept and range of the labor law. 3. The specific sources of labor law and its practical implication. 4. The private labor relations: the essentiality of employment and their implications for the parties. 5. Rights and duties of the parties. 6. The functional and geographical mobility. 7. Vacation, holidays and absences: context and consequences for the parties. 8 The vicissitudes of employment. 9 The arrangements for the termination of the employment contract: practical consequences, effects and procedures.  10. Brief reference to collective labor relations.
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    O1. The objectives of this course are to provide students with basic knowledge in the field of labor law formation and development, with a special focus on the scope and concept of labor law, its specific sources and evolution, as well as the contours of an employment contract, its elements, purpose, formation, vicissitudes, modalities, termination, practical effects, and related procedures.  C1. By the end of the course, students should be able to define the scope of labor law, its sources, the concept of an employment contract and how it differs from similar concepts, identify the various types of employment contracts and their specific features, some of the vicissitudes that may arise, the rights and duties of both parties, and be able to identify and distinguish the types of termination of employment, their procedures and consequences, among other skills.

Consolidation of content taught in class through additional research on the different topics and content covered and development of complementary work.
