    The use of information and communication technologies requires an ethical and legal framework for the areas in which they are used. Given the diversity of situations covered by the same framework, it is important to be familiar with the legislative provisions relating to this area of law, both in terms of the standards produced within international organizations and in terms of current national legislation, as well as self-regulation.

    1. Introduction to Law. Basic notions of Law. Sources of Law and Legislative Process. The Branches of Law. The Legal Relationship. 2. Information society law. Information law and intellectual freedom rights. Characterization of intellectual freedom rights. Intellectual property. ICT and law - framework and adaptation. 3. Cyberspace and internet regulation. Social networks: ethical and legal impacts. Cybercrime. 4. Protection of personal data. Principles, rights and guarantees. The General Data Protection Regulation. 5. Hiring and e-commerce. IT contracts. Legal framework for electronic commerce. 6. Professional ethics and deontology. Ethics, Morals and Law. Computational deontology.
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    Objectives: O1. Present the main concepts associated with the use of information, as well as the production and use of information and communication technologies. O2. Make the content of information law known, as an autonomous branch of law. O3. Make known the relevant legislation in the context of intellectual property. O4. Discuss the legal problems associated with copyright and intellectual property. O5. Discuss the protection of personal data in the context of GDPR. O6. Frame cybercrime in the context of the information society. Competencies: C1. Master legal matters related to information and knowledge. C2. Discuss the issues of data protection, the resulting conflicts and how these conflicts are resolved. C3. Reflect autonomously on these matters in order to improve your performance.

    In-person:  1. Theoretical/practical classes: presentation of concepts and discussion of program content.  2. Practical application: through presentation and study of cases aimed at consolidating/reviewing knowledge.  Independent: 3. Guided research proposed by the teacher. The teacher provides feedback on the results of the cases studied/analyzed in person in the classroom or through the Moodle teaching/learning support platform.

    Avaliação Curricular (contínua):

    A1. Portfólio: Exercícios de aplicação em sala de aula (grupo). Estudos de caso.

    A2. Teste final teórico-prático (individual).

    A classificação final é calculada através da fórmula Classificação Final = A1*0,4+TF*0,6. O estudante é aprovado se obtiver classificação igual ou superior a 9,5 valores.

    Avaliação Final e/ou de Recurso/Especial.

    Hipótese 1:

    - A1. Portfólio: Exercícios de aplicação em sala de aula. O Estudante obteve classificação positiva nesta componente: mantêm a classificação que será considerada em qualquer das épocas.

    - A2. Teste final teórico-prático (individual). O estudante realiza este Teste em qualquer das épocas em que se submeta a avaliação.

    A classificação final é calculada através da formula prevista na avaliação Curricular (contínua).

    Hipótese 2:

    - A1. Portfólio: Exercícios de aplicação em sala de aula. O estudante não participou ou participando obteve classificação negativa.

    Nestas circunstâncias estas componentes da avaliação não poderão ser utilizadas na Avaliação Final, Avaliação em Época de Recurso/Especial (A): O estudante realiza o exame teórico-prático (A=100%) e é aprovado se obtiver uma classificação igual ou superior a 9,5 valores em 20.
