  This curricular unit has the following learning objectives: O1. To promote and perfect English language learning, especially with regard to concepts, expressions and specific terminology related to the areas of management and marketing. O2. To develop and deepen oral and written command of the English language, perfecting the grammatical structures essential for linguistic comprehension and fluency. O3 Establishing the link between the skills developed and the apprehension and transmission of knowledge specifically centred on the thematic path of the course. O4. Demonstrate a level of use of the English language, integrating concepts and expressions appropriate to the scientific areas of the study cycle. O5. Responsible use of AI-based translation/writing systems.

• MetodologiaMethodology

  The methodology integrates activities across three learning phases-synchronous distance learning, in-person learning, and self-directed learning-promoting the acquisition and practical application of knowledge. In synchronous sessions, lecture-based and question-and-answer methods are used to present content and conduct consolidation exercises, primarily involving oral application. In in-person sessions, students engage in theoretical and practical activities, oral and written exercises, and active methodologies based on gamification, focusing on vocabulary, advanced linguistic structures, and the use of digital translation and proofreading tools. During independent study, students complete exercises assigned by the instructor. Progress is monitored through in-person tutorial feedback or via Moodle, with additional support from the virtual tutor Philix.ai.

  Avaliação Curricular (contínua):
  A1. Exercícios teórico-práticos (individual). Realizados em aula presencial.
  A2. Exercícios de conversação em aula presencial.
  A3. Teste final teórico-prático (individual). Consiste num teste escrito realizado no final do semestre.
  A classificação final é calculada através da fórmula Classificação Final A= A1*0,3+A2*0,3+TF*0,4. O estudante é aprovado se obtiver
  classificação igual ou superior a 9,5 valores.
  A classificação mínima na avaliação curricular (continua) é a seguinte:- Exercícios teórico-práticos (individual): 10 valores- Exercícios de conversação em sala de aula: 10 valores- Teste final teórico-prático (individual): 8 valores
  Avaliação Final e/ou de Recurso/Especial.
  Hipótese 1:- A1. Exercícios teórico-práticos: Exercícios de aplicação em sala de aula. O estudante obteve classificação positiva nesta componente:
  mantêm a classificação que será considerada em qualquer das épocas.- A2. Exercícios de conversão em sala de aula. O estudante obteve classificação positiva nesta componente: mantêm a classificação que
  será considerada em qualquer das épocas.- A3. Teste final teórico-prático (individual). O estudante realiza este Teste escrito em qualquer das épocas em que se submeta a
  avaliação.
  A classificação final é calculada através da fórmula proposta para a avaliação curricular.
  Hipótese 2:- A1. Exercícios teórico-práticos (individual). O estudante não participou ou participando obteve classificação negativa e/ou- A2. Exercícios de conversação em sala de aula. O estudante não participou ou participando obteve classificação negativa.
  Nestas circunstâncias estas componentes da avaliação não poderão ser utilizadas na Avaliação Final, Avaliação em Época de
  Recurso/Especial.
  O estudante realiza o exame teórico-prático composto por uma componente escrita (A1) e uma componente oral (a) em que a
  Avaliação=A1*0.5 + A2*0.5 e é aprovado se obtiver uma classificação igual ou superior a 9,5 valores em 20.
