    The complexity and competitiveness of markets demand that organizations adopt structured continuous improvement practices to increase the efficiency of their processes. In this context, continuous improvement tools (CITs) play an essential role in identifying improvement opportunities and supporting decision-making. Within the scope of quality, environmental, and safety management, their application contributes to improving organizational performance and strengthening competitiveness.   The implementation of these tools will allow for data collection, analysis of process development and stakeholder performance, identification of deviations, and the development of significant indicators for management decision-making aimed at the continuous improvement of production processes (products and services).

    The objectives of the discipline are: O1- Manage processes, identifying objectives and measurement indicators for them, demonstrating the ability to analyze results. O2 - Promote quality improvement, through the use of quality tools, demonstrating mastery of them. O3-Process data and quality records, through the application of IT resources, demonstrating mastery of the applications. 04-Develop and implement improvement programs, in accordance with normative references, promoting a culture of continuous improvement. At the end of the curricular unit, students should be able to: C1- Manage processes and mediation indicators, demonstrate ability to analyze results. C2- Promote quality improvement using quality tools. C3- Process data and quality records using the tools available. C4- Develop and implement improvement programs.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    The content will be presented in face-to-face sessions with discussion of the topics, guided practical sessions, and the development of practical projects.   The methodology adopted is Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Case Studies, promoting active, student-centered learning through the resolution of complex real-world problems.

    A aquisição de conhecimentos será aferida através de um teste de avaliação. O desenvolvimento de competências será aferido através da realização, apresentação, e da discussão de um trabalho de grupo. Os coeficientes de ponderação no cálculo da nota final são os seguintes: Teste (65%) e Trabalho de grupo com as componentes elaboração, apresentação e discussão (35%).


    - Serão aprovados os alunos que tiverem nota final igual ou superior a 10 valores nos elementos de avaliação contínua acima indicados.
    - Caso não sejam aprovados, terão de efetuar a avaliação final.
