    The course unit Communication and Management Skills aims to provide students with essential tools for both their academic path and professional career, fostering the development of transversal skills that combine effective communication, management fundamentals, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The course emphasizes a practical and applied approach, encouraging students to master oral and written communication techniques, understand the foundations of organizational management, and explore innovative solutions for real market challenges. Throughout the semester, students will engage in activities that integrate theory and practice, strengthening their ability to work in teams, lead projects, and create sustainable business opportunities.

    1. Communication and Presentation Techniques: The notions of communication and technical communication. Written communication techniques. IT slide construction tools. Automatic tools: numbering; citations and bibliography. Ethics in the use of computer resources for different forms of written communication. Artificial intelligence applied to communication processes. 2. Introduction to Management: The evolution of management. Organization and process. The structures of organizations. Coordination and control. Business functions. 3. Innovation: Innovation management. Innovation concepts. Innovation and professional opportunities. Innovation and intellectual property. 4. Entrepreneurship: Introduction to entrepreneurship. Leadership and team management. The process of creating businesses/companies. Business planning and evaluation.

    O1. To present the most relevant communication and presentation techniques. O2. To introduce the theories of business management and organisation. O3. Introduce the concepts of innovation and entrepreneurship. Competences: C1. Efficiently use the multiple components and techniques that influence good oral or written communication. C2. Master the fundamental concepts and theories of management applicable to the day-to-day running of organisations. C3. Explore and experience the development and creation of new solutions and market opportunities using the appropriate tools.

    Synchronous distance learning: 1. Expository method to introduce concepts and structure combined reasoning as the interrogative method for consolidating learning, in the theoretical aspect of each chapter. Face to face: 2. Demonstrative method for the practical exemplification of content and active methods, using Active Pedagogical Methodologies strategies such as Case Study/problem. Autonomous: 3. Consolidation of the content taught in class through research for additional information on the different topics covered and development of additional work proposed by the teacher. Students submit supplementary work on the Moodle platform. The teacher gives feedback (Tutorial Guidance – OT) on the results obtained by the student in solving the case studies and solving the proposed supplementary work, in person in a classroom context or remotely in asynchronous mode via the Moodle platform.
