  • ProgramaProgramme
    1. Cloud computing services and various abstractions (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS). 2. Scalability and elasticity of applications and services for Cloud computing. 3. Virtualization for Cloud computing (virtual machines and containers). 4. Data/storage management for Cloud computing (file systems, object stores). 5. Provisioning, installation, and management of distributed applications (Infrastructure-as-a-code). 6. Monitoring of Cloud computing infrastructures and services. 7. Experimental evaluation of distributed applications and services.
  • ObjectivosObjectives
O1. Understand the fundamental concepts related to the organization and the current characteristics of cloud computing infrastructures and services. O2. Know the internal structure and management methods of infrastructures and services in cloud computing environments. O3. Understand the concepts of scalability and availability in distributed applications and services in the cloud. O4. Recognize virtualization services and data management processes in distributed applications. C1. Provision and install applications and services in cloud computing environments. C2. Select the most appropriate approaches to virtualizing compute resources according to the objectives. C3. Configure, install, and maintain the operability of distributed applications in cloud environments. C4. • MetodologiaMethodology
Synchronous distance learning: 1. Use of the principles of the ABRP methodology, adjusted to the distance context, through which the case presentation is carried out, then the collaborative exploration by the students is developed. Face-to-face: 2. Conducting research and group presentation by students on a specific project, applying the techniques and tools taught and demonstrated, using the Problem-Based Learning (ABRP) methodology. Autonomous: 3. Additional research aiming to collect elements to support the resolution of the practical problem and writing of the report practical work following the techniques of scientific writing. The lecturer provides feedback on the development of the practical work (Tutorial Guidance - OT), in person in the classroom or via the Moodle teaching/learning support platform.

  • AvaliaçãoEvaluation

    Avaliação Curricular (contínua):
    - A1. Trabalho prático (grupo).- A2. Apresentação do trabalho.- A3.
Recurso/Especial)- A2. Apresentação do trabalho.
    Recurso/Especial (A).
A classificação mínima na avaliação curricular (continua) é a seguinte:- Trabalho prático (grupo): 10 valores- Apresentação do trabalho: 10 valores- Teste final teórico/prático (individual): 8 valores
    classificação do estudante nessa componente.
