    The course presents the principles of occupational safety and the main causes of accidents, developing skills to apply risk assessment methodologies, define appropriate preventive solutions, and promote safe behavior among workers.

    O1. To describe the scope and principles of safety;  O2. Identify and implement operational and analytical techniques, to relate the main causes underlying the accidents;  O3. Apply the methods, means recognizing their planning and implementation with a view to preventing accident.  Ate the end of the curricular unit students should be able to: C1. Apply methodologies and techniques of risk assessment, decide on the most appropriate solutions to solve specific situations;  C2. Motivate workers to adopt safe behavior in the exercise of professional activity.

    A avaliação curricular e/ou a avaliação final consiste na elaboração de um trabalho prático (40%) e uma frequência (60%). Todos os momentos de avaliação são de carácter teórico e prático.
