    The course is part of the Human Resource Management area, addressing the main concepts, functions and practices associated with people management in organisations. Its scope focuses on the analysis of human resource activities, including recruitment and selection, performance evaluation, career management, reward systems and organisational communication, as well as the use of technologies and computer applications to support people management. The aim of this course unit is to provide an integrated understanding of the strategic role of human resources in the functioning and development of organisations, contributing to the acquisition of knowledge and skills relevant to intervention in organisational contexts within the scope of the study cycle.

    The objectives of the course unit are:   O1. Define and distinguish the concepts of a company and its constituent elements.   O2. Identify and characterise the internal functions of a company.   O3. Identify and differentiate the types of organisational structure.   O4. Analyse organisational management theories, their operationalisation and control.   O5. Identify the principles of organisational communication.   O6. Apply management theories and practices to the context of organisations.   O7. Use human resource management computer applications.
