  The course covers sustainability, pollution prevention, environmental and market policies, environmental management systems, and industrial ecology, relating product life cycles and eco-design, enabling students to apply environmental management systems, conduct audits, and implement environmental practices in industrial and business contexts.

• ObjectivosObjectives

  The objectives of the curricular unit are: O1. To familiarize students with the issues of sustainability and development policies; O2. Present the concepts related to the prevention of pollution; O3. Discuss market policy and its relation to the preservation of the environment; O4. Introduce environmental management systems; O5. Discuss the environmental management policies in the context of the industry; O6. Relate the life cycle of the product and eco-design; O7. Discuss the environmental policies and sustainable development. At the end of the curricular unit students should be able to: C1. Handle and apply environmental management systems; C2. Undertake an environmental audit; C3. Implement environmental management in industry and business; C4. Apply the tools and procedures of industrial ecology; C5. Know how to handle general guidelines of the life cycle analysis and environmental accounting,

  Aos estudantes que não obtiverem aprovação, ou não se tenham submetido, à avaliação contínua, são sujeitos à avaliação final concretizada através de exame (100%).
