Economic Analysis

  The main aim of this course is to provide an overview of how the economy works, both nationally and internationally, and in the interests of a business organisation. By the end of the course, students should have acquired the appropriate knowledge and language to enable them to understand and discuss the main problems of an economy and to understand the instruments of interest to businesses.

Demand and Supply in Markets - Demand, supply and market equilibrium - Consumer surplus and producer surplus - Shifts along curves and shifts of curves  - Utility theory. - Elasticities 3. Costs, Profit Maximisation and Market Structures - Costs and revenues - Markets  - Profit maximisation in perfect competition - Economic and financial indicators

  Know the fundamental concepts of economics and economic science. Explain how these concepts can be applied to a range of economic problems.  To teach the concepts, tools and methodologies of economic analysis at micro and macroeconomic level.
