    The Design Project course constitutes the initial phase of project development, focusing on problem definition, scientific rationale, technological selection, and methodological structuring of the proposed solution.

    1. Principles of academic integrity, codes of ethics, and plagiarism. 2. Introduction to scientific research. 3. Scientific research methods. 4. Choosing a scientific research problem. 5. Literature review. 6. Research methodologies applied to the project. 7. Writing scientific articles and technical reports. 8. Oral presentation of articles and reports.
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    The objectives of this course depend on the type of project to be developed, however, students are expected to acquire the following generic skills: C1. Master research methods and techniques and their application to problem solving. C2. Demonstrate integrated knowledge of computer engineering and its application to solving concrete problems. C3. Demonstrate the ability to select the appropriate technologies for carrying out the proposed activities. C4. Apply their knowledge and understanding to solve problems in new and unfamiliar situations. C5. Communicate their conclusions, knowledge, and reasoning underlying the work carried out, presenting and justifying explicitly and convincingly the choices made to carry out the work. C7. Prepare reports on the project work (design phase).

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    1. The methodology for monitoring the project work will be the responsibility of the advisor, but, as a general rule, it will consist of meetings at a frequency appropriate to the work/student in question. 2. In addition, the supervisor may require the student to submit a series of interim reports as a further means of monitoring compliance with all the planned stages and tasks. 3. At the end, the student must write a design report covering the work carried out. It is encouraged that the project work be carried out in an applied context, as recommended in the ISLA Santarém pedagogical model.

    A avaliação do relatório de conceção do projeto tem um peso de 100% na avaliação desta UC.
